Frequently asked questions about TriClamp connections

Practical answers – directly from the experts.

Do you offer custom solutions and flexible connection systems?2025-09-05T10:13:03+02:00

Yes – we manufacture special dimensions, adapter pieces, and components for weigh-in systems, dosing technology, or flexibly mounted pipelines. For dynamic applications, compensator hoses are used when rigid connections are unsuitable.

What distinguishes your TriClamp connections from standard solutions?2025-09-05T10:12:57+02:00

Our components are internationally standardized – the difference lies in quality assurance, speed, and support.

We offer:

  • Personal consultation by experienced specialists

  • Fast response times for quotations and delivery

  • Certified quality with valid certificates (e.g., AD2000-A5)

  • Manufacturing within the EU – no dependency on Far East components

Do you offer technical support and on-site service?2025-09-05T10:12:49+02:00

Of course. We support you in the selection, design, and implementation of your projects. Whether it’s a drawing, a technical inquiry, or an on-site visit – our team is available for you and will assist you personally.

Can the connections be used in aseptic processes?2025-09-05T10:13:45+02:00

Yes – our components are specifically designed for WFI, PW, and other high-purity media. For sensitive applications, we exclusively use suitable materials such as PTFE seals and high-alloy stainless steel. This prevents corrosion caused by deionized water (e.g., pitting corrosion with WFI).

In which industries are TriClamp components mainly used?2025-09-05T10:14:08+02:00

Our connection systems are primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, and food processing – wherever the highest hygiene standards, traceability, and sterile operation are required. They are also successfully applied in chemical plants and with pure media such as WFI or PW.

How is the correct size and material selected?2025-09-05T10:13:34+02:00

Dimensioning is carried out on a project-specific basis in close consultation with the customer. The criteria include medium, temperature, pressure, and cleaning concept. For standard applications, we are happy to advise you on common selections – including measuring instructions for outer diameter and suitable sealing materials.

What are the hygienic advantages of TriClamp systems?2025-09-05T10:13:50+02:00

TriClamp connections enable dead-space-free joints that can be optimally cleaned – CIP/SIP-capable, easy to disassemble, and user-friendly during installation. Their smooth, polished surfaces (depending on application area e.g., Ra < 0.4 µm or < 0.25 µm) minimize the risk of deposits or contamination.

Which stainless-steel and sealing materials are available?2025-09-05T10:14:02+02:00

By default, we use high-quality stainless steels such as 1.4404 / 316L or 1.4435.
For aggressive media or WFI, we also offer high-alloy grades such as 1.4539, 1.4529, or 2.4602 (Hastelloy).

Our seals are available depending on the application in EPDM, silicone, Viton, or PTFE – all certified according to FDA and USP Class VI.

Which documentation do customers receive upon delivery?2025-09-05T10:13:22+02:00

By default, we provide:

  • 3.1 material certificates for stainless steel

  • FDA/USP Class VI certificates for seals

On request: surface roughness test reports, dimensional measurements, or complete documentation packages for validation and TÜV approval – especially for vessel construction and pharmaceutical plants.

Which temperatures and pressures are relevant in pharmaceutical processes?2025-09-05T10:13:28+02:00

In pharmaceutical applications, the focus is primarily on steam sterilization at 121 °C, 135 °C, or 145 °C. The decisive factor here is the selection of the appropriate seal – not the stainless steel.
In general, the pressure ranges are up to a maximum of 3 bar.

What are TriClamp connections – and which components are included?2025-09-05T10:12:08+02:00

TriClamp connections are hygienic connection systems consisting of several precisely manufactured components: clamps (2- or 3-segment), suitable gaskets (EPDM, Viton, PTFE, etc.), stainless steel ferrules, and fittings such as bends, tees, or reducers. They enable a dead-space-free, easily detachable connection of pipelines – ideal for sterile processes.

Do you support audits or validation processes?2025-09-05T10:13:15+02:00

Yes – if required, we prepare comprehensive documentation, support your TÜV approvals, or assist with audit preparations. In most cases, the documentation is already fully provided upon delivery – and we are also available for you after project completion.

Which stainless steels and sealing materials are available?2025-09-05T10:09:48+02:00

As standard, we use high-quality stainless steels such as 1.4404 / 316L or 1.4435. For aggressive media or WFI, we also offer high-alloy variants such as 1.4539, 1.4529 or 2.4602 (Hastelloy). Depending on the application, our seals are available in EPDM, silicone, Viton or PTFE – all certified according to FDA and USP Class VI.

Which types and designs of clamps are available?2025-09-05T10:13:39+02:00

We offer 2- and 3-segment clamps as well as high-pressure variants – also with tool protection or hexagonal nuts for temperature-critical pipelines. All our clamps are optionally available with valid component testing according to AD 2000-A5/HP100R – a unique feature that ensures maximum process reliability.
